Karmic Energy Development Study

Know Your Planets !

Know Your Planets

Planets, their movements, meanings  and their characteristics  are the foundation of the working essence  of Astrology.  A deeply defined appreciation of the meanings of each Planet, is essential, for by their own nature , their Rulership, and  their characteristics, they portray the real, that different . . . . essence  of  . . . . You !

The Planets

There are eight (8 No) Planets in our Solar System and these are considered to be the ones which sit most in the major sphere of influence and which exert their FORCES upon us.  These 8 Planets are generally broken down into two categories. Those that are referred to as the INNER Planets, and those which are referred to as the OUTER Planets.

It is particularly important that as astrologers, or astrology students, you learn that the sphere's of influence for the INNER Planets and those of the OUTER Planets are very different in their impact upon all readings taken whatever the form of Astrology is that you are doing. Whether it is Mundane Astrology, Transit Astrology, Synastry (Relationship) Astrology, or any of the many forms of Astrology readings. The basic difference comes from the proximity to the SUN to each of the Planets, and the taken for each Planet to complete one full orbit of the Sun.

It is worth noting here that the Earth, upon which we all sit, is also a Planet. It is in orbit around the Sun. The Planets do not orbit around the Earth at all. Often confusing to many students at first, is coming to terms with understanding that the spheres of influence  of the Planets - which orbit the Sun - are in fact different to the spheres of influence of the MOON and the SUN within reading of Astrology - as the MOON and the SUN are not orbiting in the manner nor creating the same spheres, as the Planets are.

The influence of the eight (8 No) Planets is a magnetic "pulling" influence. It is in essence created by the relationship that exists between the particular Planet, and the SUN, around which the Planet is orbiting.  How it exerts this influence is not difficult to understand, but it is essential that you do so that you can consider correctly the Astrological relevance.

Imagine if you will, a young boy, with a piece of string tied to a stone, twirling the stone about over his head.  The stone will swirl in a circle, a circular orbit, attached to the string and held by the boys hand. The stone "pulls" wanting to go off in a tangent away from the restraining 'force'. There is a relationship between the stone and the boy's hand - it is the piece of string. There is a 'sphere of influence' at the same time - in that the energy needed by the stone to "break free" and the energy needed by the boys hand to restrain the stone are actually "pulling" against one another.

Now imagine that the stone - is one of the Planets, and the boys hand - is the SUN. There is a relationship between the SUN and the Planet in orbit around the SUN. The gravitational 'pull' of the SUN keeps the Planet in its orbit.  The Planet is drawn closer to the SUN and the Planet accelerates. Using this ENERGY the Planet tries to the go off - in a tangent - in a straight line and "pull" away from the SUN. The SUN'S Energy pulls it into

an elliptical orbit, the Planet slows down, and is 'turned' back around the SUN.   But there is no piece of string - as in the case of a stone and a boy's hand.  There is a FORCE, an 'unseen' force "pulling" against the Planet by the SUN. Considering the mass of the Planets, that "pull" is a lot of FORCE.

We as Human Beings are sitting on the Earth, turning in cycles within this pretty powerful force, indeed within all of the spheres of influence between each different Planet, of different mass and speed, being held in various orbits around the SUN. We are "influenced" by these FORCES.

The MOON, is in orbit around the Earth, not the SUN. Its sphere of influence on the Earth has been more readily accepted. Influencing the tides. Influencing planting and productive cycles.  Influencing even Human cycles. The SUN "pulls" the Earth, and its MOON, in the same way that it "pulls" on the Planets, and the same influence is generated by the "pull" of the earth and its MOON as we understand the Planets "pull" in return.

The Human body and Mind, our emotions, and many of our circumstances are effected, influenced, created, magnified, generated and accelerated by the "pull" of the Planets. When they are in the same linear position as appears to us, that is for example in conjunction, then their application of their individual spheres of influence will be magnified according to the influences they each possess. Influence in turn, that are generated by their mass and the FORCES which they exert between the SUN, and themselves over the distances they are from the SUN as happens by the position they are in within each part of their elliptical orbit.

The Sun And The Moon

In Astrology the Sun and the Moon are read as the influences which they exert in the same way as the influence of the Planets are read according to their Natures.

The Sun brings concentration of the Energies which both it, and any Planet or the Moon it happens to be making Aspect with ay the time will give.

The Moon brings concentration of influence upon the emotions, the watery portion of the softening Spirit which is a significant influence upon the Human psyche and the daily tare of every person.

The Sun and the Moon are not Planets. They do not orbit the Sun as each of the Planets does.  The Moon is often considered to be a reflective energy of the Sun's Energies, rather that necessarily having its own Energy. In my work as an Astrology I hold that the Moon, while reflective, carries its own Energy created by its sphere of influence gained by being held in orbit around the Earth nor around the Sun, and at the same time its cycle is generated by its speed and its time in Orbit to go around the Earth once. The Sun provides the Moon with waxing, waning, and other Energies which the Planets do not possess, and which in turn gives the Moon extremely varied and wide spheres of influence in matters of relationships, emotions, medical success, planting and fishing guides and the ability to reflect growth and potential into human, plant and animal life on the Earth.
